Partnerships
Sustainable development requires partnerships of many kinds:
- partnerships between business players along the value chain,
- partnerships between business, NGOs and government (especially on climate change, biodiversity and anti-corruption issues),
- partnerships between multidisciplinary experts.
Work for the Michael Otto Foundation
During
recent years, the Hamburg based Michael Otto Foundation asked me to help
organise and facilitate complex multi-stakeholder meetings on high-level policy issues:
- workshops with top level scientists, members of parliament and administration on climate change policy, as a first step towards establishing a business leaders initiative for an effective German contribution to global climate policies;
- workshops on the future of the Wadden Sea in the context of climate change;
- contributions to the so-called 'Hamburger Gespräche', a yearly event on top priority nature conservation issues.

Building partnerships for sustainability is not easy. It requires clear goals, clear processes and good communication.
What I Do

- I advise my clients on choosing partners, creating clear objectives and common knowledge for effective cooperation.
